The 5 Best Makeup Artists in Melbourne Everyone’s Quietly Booking
It started with a last-minute pre-event scramble. Outfit sorted, hair cooperating, but my makeup skills suddenly felt very questionable.
Somewhere between searching for “effortless glam” and debating whether a quick stop at a diamond jewellery shop might pull the whole look together, I realised the right makeup artist can just solve my problem.
After all, they don’t just apply products. They enhance, sculpt, and sometimes deliver results that feel as transformative as subtle facelifts (without the commitment).
That’s why our team got inspired to look for the best makeup artists in Melbourne. We thought we’d share what we found to help you look and feel confident as well.
How much does a makeup artist cost in Melbourne?
A makeup artist in Melbourne usually costs about $60–$170 per session for standard makeup. For more premium or on-location services, it can be around $150+ per hour, especially for weddings or events.
1. Jacqueline Parker Creative Melbourne Hair and Makeup Artists

Phone: +61 409 377 052
Business hours:
- Monday to Sunday: 8 AM – 6 PM
If you’ve ever tried booking a makeup artist in Melbourne, you’ll know the process can be exhausting. That’s where Jacqueline Parker flips the script a bit.
It’s an agency setup, so instead of committing blindly to a single stylist, you’re matched with a shortlist of pre-vetted artists. We’ve talked to some of their clients who were brides, and they said the process pretty much removed some stress.
Their overall style leans polished and camera-ready. Bridal glam can hold up through tears, flash photography, and long hours. We were also impressed that their portfolio was adaptable enough for editorial and commercial work.
We can also recommend them for those who need multiple people to get glammed quickly. They have a strong team dynamic.
A lot of people said their artists work together seamlessly. They can customise looks for different people while still keeping everything cohesive.
That said, they’re more on the premium side of things. From everything we heard, it seems worth it, though.
He truly listened & understood the vision of each girl in our group
“Eddy was absolutely fantastic! He truly listened & understood the vision of each girl in our group. Eddy created the most perfect hair and make up looks that lasted the whole wedding celebration night full of hours of sweaty dancing! We’d book Eddy again in a heartbeat!! Thanks so much, Eddy!!”

My makeup looked bomb
“I booked with Deanna and she was fantastic! My makeup was for two photoshoots I had spent ALOT of money on and when I woke up the day before with a cold sore I was panicking thinking I’d have to cancel makeup. She not only solved the problem by bringing disposable brushes specifically for me but was super non judgmental and soothing plus completely covered it up so it was not at all visible. Make up looked bomb, Deanna was lovely”

2. TMA Hustle

Phone: +61 424 242 179
Business hours:
- Monday to Wednesday: 9 AM – 6 PM
- Thursday to Friday: 9 AM – 7 PM
- Saturday: 8 AM – 7 PM
- Sunday: 9 AM – 6 PM
TMA Hustle doesn’t try to out-polish everyone else in Melbourne. They seem to lean into personality instead, and that’s exactly where they win.
Clients loved how their makeup artists are cool and chatty. Their hyping adds to how clients feel confident after their looks. Their strength in customer service doesn’t mean their skills aren’t also strong, though.
They shine in enhancing natural features rather than masking them. They make thoughtful suggestions and tailor the look to the client’s face and occasion. They really consider the clients’ eye shape, and they’re great at colour matching.
We also loved that you aren’t boxed into a massive all-inclusive package if you don’t need it. You can book a straightforward makeup session or go for a glam upgrade. If that’s the case, though, the pricing gets a little complicated.
The base rates themselves are reasonable for a mobile Melbourne makeup team. But once you factor in travel fees and multiple potential surcharges (hair condition, extensions, etc.), the final cost can creep up.
I enjoyed her professionalism and expert skills
“Nita did an amazing job on both my hair and makeup at extremely short notice. I enjoyed her professionalism and expert skills to make me look stunning for my function. I would 100% recommend Nita to everyone I can tell.”

Nita is wonderful, helpful, and did a beautiful job
“Nita is wonderful, helpful, and did a beautiful job. She did three of my colleagues makeup for an awards night and all three us got lots of compliments. None of us knew anything much about makeup, and Nita was great in helping us understand what we wanted and making sure we were happy with the results. Thanks Nita!”

3. Bernice Melbourne Makeup Artist

Address: Level 1, Studio 5/459 – 475 Sydney Rd, Brunswick
Phone: +61 407 161 185
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8 AM – 8 PM
- Saturday: 8 AM – 6 PM
- Sunday: 9 AM – 5 PM
Bernice Melbourne isn’t the kind of makeup artist you can neatly box into one lane, and that’s her biggest strength. From what we’ve seen, she comfortably moves between commercial campaigns, runway work, fashion editorials, and bridal bookings.
What stood out most to our team wasn’t just the range. It’s how often clients talk about how she works.
She’s very detail-oriented. Clients’ features are enhanced rather than overpowered, especially when it comes to eye makeup. Moreover, her work lasts all day and night, which is basically the holy grail for event makeup.
We also found her adaptability to be a big deal. Being able to go from backstage runway chaos to a structured bridal morning or a controlled studio shoot means something.
She’s very comfortable with shifting lighting, tight timelines, and different creative directions.
There are a couple of trade-offs, though. Artists who juggle this range of work tend to have tighter and less predictable availability, so we suggest booking her early.
She produced a perfect look, exactly what I hoped for
“I booked Bernice by recommendation for hair and make-up for a special occasion. I never wear make-up and was unsure of what I wanted. Bernice was super friendly, made me comfortable and helped guide me to a style I wanted. She produced a perfect look, exactly what I hoped for. Bernice also came to our hotel in the city which was so convenient! I would 100% recommend her services.”

Bernice is an incredible makeup artist!
“Bernice is an incredible makeup artist! And also a lovely person. She was so accommodating of my requests, and always friendly and helpful. I have had my hair and makeup done by Bernice twice, and both times were faultless. Two very different styles and both done perfectly. I received so many comments at each of the events I went to, all admiring her work. I would not hestitate to recommend her to all of my friends and family!”

4. Kryolan Professional Makeup Studio – Melbourne CBD

Address: 108 Little Collins St
Phone: +61 396 544 147
Business hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 10 AM – 5 PM
- Friday: 10 AM – 6 PM
- Saturday: 10 AM – 5:30 PM
- Sunday: Closed
If you walk into Kryolan Professional Makeup Studio, you’ll probably realise pretty quickly that this place plays in a different league.
Besides their services, it’s also a hybrid between a professional artist hub and a full-on makeup brand that they use for clients. And that’s the thing, their products are professional-grade and cruelty-free.
Clients have attested that their products can withstand longevity—great for events! But they’re not boxed into one aesthetic. They do natural beauty and glamour, but they also branch into bridal, drag, and even character work.
We loved how they make clients feel seen. One person mentioned past experiences of being dismissed elsewhere, but here, her makeup artist took the time to understand what she wanted before bringing in her own creativity.
They’re willing to suggest improvement without overriding the client’s vision.
Now, the elephant in the room is the pricing. It’s on the higher side, but we find it just fair considering the brand and the level they operate at.
I got so many compliments on my makeup and it lasted all day / night!
“I had a wonderful experience here with the beautiful Marina!! She was so accomodating and knew exactly what I needed for my hens do. Very flexible too to make sure I was 100% happy. I got so many compliments on my makeup and it lasted all day / night! Would definitely come back. Thank you so much Marina!!”

You made my event so special
“I recently booked a hair and makeup and got my times mixed up. The ladies gave me a courtesy call and explained they would catch me up with 2 stylists. This blew my mind. Most businesses would not look for a solution, just say sorry nothing we can do. From the moment Cornelia lifted the brushes and Marina super slicked that ponytail, I knew they were the dynamic duo. The product is always amazing, coupled with the stand out artists, I was done and out on time with a bag full of goodies after the redemption on the make over. The best by far, thanks ladies you made my event so special. I’ll be heading back for the lessons.”

5. Alana MUHA | Melbourne Makeup and Hair Artist

Phone: +61 480 569 829
Business hours:
- Monday to Sunday: 9 AM – 5 PM
Bridal looks and editorial looks may come from two different lanes, but Alana knows how to bridge that gap.
Being featured in publications like Vogue Australia isn’t just a flex, but also shows in how she approaches faces.
It’s not minimalist makeup—it’s controlled, intentional, and designed to show up both in real life and on camera. There’s also a fashion-awareness to her work, but she tempers it with the practicality bridal clients need.
From what we heard from clients, she’s also calm and down-to-earth. Some who didn’t have clear inspiration going in said she guided them through the process. She asked for feedback and refined the look until it felt right.
That said, she’s not the most flexible option if you’re the spontaneous type. She’s very in demand.
Bookings often need to be locked in months ahead, with trials and consultations scheduled well before the event.
I could not be more grateful or recommend her more highly!
“I booked Alana to do my hair & makeup for my wedding and it was the best decision I could’ve made! Not only did she do the most incredible job, but she made me feel so comfortable on the morning of one of the biggest days of my life. I could not be more grateful or recommend her more highly! Thanks so much lovely”

She brought my wedding vision to life
“Alana is an exceptional human. She brought my wedding vision to life, adding to what I had dreamt of with beautiful ideas that improved my original thoughts. She has a peaceful confidence in her manner, which meant a relaxed, enjoyable experience at every turn. I had quite specific & unusual requests that she ran with from the start with joy. Thank you for my amazing hair & makeup, and for my two accompanying goddesses. When the official photos arrive, I will update this review with photo of the gorgeous braided heart Alana did.”
