Anivet Care offers in-home veterinary services for dogs and cats across Melbourne and nearby suburbs, providing a stress-free alternative to traditional vet visits. Their goal is to make pet healthcare more convenient by bringing professional medical attention directly to clients’ homes.

Founded by Dr. Sugumar, who has over 21 years of experience in feline and canine medicine and surgery, Anivet Care focuses on delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a familiar setting. Their mobile service currently covers a 15 km radius around Epping and surrounding areas.

Their offerings include routine consultations, vaccinations, flea and parasite treatments, minor medical procedures, euthanasia and cremation, and microchipping—all performed at home. They also assist with managing chronic conditions, conducting basic diagnostics, and providing post-treatment follow-ups.

Clients frequently highlight how calm their pets remain during visits and appreciate the vet’s gentle approach and clear communication. Many note the convenience of having medications and equipment brought directly to their home, saving time and reducing anxiety for both pets and owners.

Appointments can be easily scheduled via phone or the Anivet Care website, with clear, fixed fees listed for standard visits. While they don’t provide after-hours emergency services, they do refer clients to nearby veterinary hospitals when urgent care is required.

It’s worth noting that in-home vet services may cost more than clinic visits due to travel and mobile equipment use. Additionally, certain complex diagnostics may still require referral to a fully equipped clinic.

Looking ahead, Anivet Care plans to establish a brick-and-mortar clinic in the near future, allowing them to expand their range of services while continuing to offer the same caring, convenient experience that has earned them praise from Melbourne pet owners.

Pros

  • Convenient home visits
  • Compassionate, experienced vet
  • Full suite of services at home
  • Clear communication
  • Ideal for anxious or immobile pets

Cons

  • Higher cost compared to clinic visits

Highly recommended

“Dr Sugamar attended our home to treat our cat for a painful issue with one of her claws. Our cat was less than co-operative and could not be manually restrained for treatment however Dr Sugamar provided options to allow the treatment to proceed safely and quickly for our cat. This made the appointment less stressful for both the cat and for me! I appreciated the thorough answers to all of my questions and the clear and concise after care instructions. The nail issue was resolved and Pixie is now a much happier kitty. I would not hesitate to recommend Anivet Care and will be calling on Dr Sugamar for any future vet needs we may have.”

Took concerns seriously

“I cannot express my gratitude to Ready Vet Go. When my little Jack Russell was very ill, I contacted Ready Vet Go and they were fantastic. Incredibly quick to get back to me after jumping on the website which was such a relief as my fur baby was really sick and I was very distressed after being ignored by another vet and made to feel I was overreacting. Ready Vet Go took my concerns seriously and it was such a relief because I really didn’t know what to do. Because of them, my little guy received the care he needed. He was in hospital for 3 nights and is now on the mend. He had a serious condition and I hate to think of how this could have gone if it wasn’t for Ready Vet Go. I would give them 1000 stars if I could!”

Affordable service

“What an amazing service “Ready Vet Go” is. My Chihuahua “Maggie” has been out of sorts for a couple of days. Then tonight “Sunday” she was having trouble breathing and vomited. She was very stressed. From the call with Nick who was clear, concise and calm to when Nick and the Vet Paul arrived was only 40min. Paul was extremely thorough and explained everything as he examined Maggie. Some ante nausea medication and a simple diet for the coming days and Maggie should be back to her sassy self! 🐾

This service is very affordable and not having to take Maggie to the 24hr vet hospital was so much less stressful! I would highly recommend this service.

Thankyou guys 🙏🐾”

Professional and sensitive

“Since the first day my old Labrador met Dr Laurence, we realized how excellent professional he is. He took the time to answer all my questions, listened to Koome history and continued a follow-up after the visit. In addition, he is sensitive friendly and nice with pet owners. So, without doubt, when my almost 16-year-old dog needed to say goodbye to us, I called Laurence to accompany Koome to the end of her beautiful life. He and the nurse were very respectful and sensitive at this difficult time. Koome slept peacefully in the best hands. He is really the best vet I met, and I recommend him 100%. Thanks Laurence, I really appreciate your professional, kind and amazing service!”

Humanly and gentle experience

“Unable to take my 17yo cat to the vet to be euthanised, I found Pawssum Melbourne. They sent Dr Carla. I was a blubbering mess and she made the experience as gentle and kind as humanly possible, kneeling on the bathroom tiles to avoid distressing my baby. Hope to never go through this again (losing my fur baby) but grateful to the swift and caring service. Would recommend. RIP Bonnie and thank you to Dr Carla.”
